Evangelism Ministries

 The purpose of Evangelism Ministries is to inspire local congregations and individual Christians to be responsible in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Included in this process are opportunities for churches to work together in sharing the gospel through our Tidewater Transportation Ministries, Inc. at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal and starting new congregations. Our association vision is for all people, regardless of language, race, lifestyle or culture to have the opportunity of hearing, understanding and responding to the gospel.

 Ministry Service

 The purpose of Ministry Service is to assist local congregations and individual Christians in discovering and meeting the needs of others (spiritual, emotional, relational, physical and financial) in the Name of Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Included in this purpose are ministries to seniors through Emily Green Shores, missions development opportunities through the WMU and Baptist Men, collegiate ministries, pastoral ministries, disaster relief,  and local area ministries such as with the jails and the Crisis Pregnancy Center

 Discipleship Ministries

 The mission of Discipleship Ministries is to encourage local congregations and individual Christians to grow in their love relationship to God, apply the Bible to daily life and to live by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to transform their life and become empowered to make disciples of others. This ministry includes Church Revitalization, Sunday School and Discipleship Development, Leadership Development and Media Library.

 Worship Ministries and Fellowship Ministries

 The mission of Worship and Fellowship Ministries is to promote a personal encounter with God and build healthy relationships with God’s people that build up the body of Christ. Association ministry efforts in this area include Music, Association Missions Emphasis Week and Fellowship Enrichment.

 The Ministry of Association Staff Leadership

 Leadership is necessary for the carrying out of our association’s mission and vision. Our director of missions and ministries and support staff help to coordinate and provide direction in the total work of our association. Assistance is available to meet the needs of church committees and church program leaders, conflict resolution, church health, working with pastor search committees and a variety of other concerns within our churches.
